Who we are
Dallas Victims of Crime is a Non-Profit 501(c)3 charitable organization established to help the victims of violent crime in the DFW metroplex. Our organization was founded in 2010 to help victims re-establish their health, sense of security and identity following a violent crime. Using a network of therapists, doctors, and medical care facilities we connect victims with professionals who care and have the means to help.
Our judicial system attempts to convict criminals and provide restitution when a criminal is found guilty. According to the FBI in 2009 only 1 in 5 violent crimes led to an arrest and guilty verdict when prosecuted. Although it can provide some comfort to the victims when a criminal is prosecuted, it does nothing to re-establish a victim’s life, provide medical treatment or therapy. There is nothing that will undo the damage from a violent crime, our mission is to help provide assistance so that the victim can re-establish themselves and continue to be a productive member of society. Our vision is to turn victims into survivors.
